This will help to show you what ideas need more support, or how paragraphs should be ordered. - Mapping: write your topic in one circle with main ideas branching off. - Cubing: in your mind, imagine a six-sided cube, and divide that cube into categories for each side. For example, description of your topic, compare/contrast, analyze, arguments for/against, application, etc.

Describe the Big Rocks analogy for prioritizing.
In our lives as students, we have several priorities that we must organize. We have the big things that must get done, the smaller things that are not as urgent, and the minute details. Our natural tendency is to get those little things, and maybe the things that are not as important, done first. We avoid the bigger, sometimes more intimidating or time-consuming projects. However, by doing this we don't always get those big things out of the way. So if we prioritized to get the big things done first (our big rocks), the smaller rocks and sand would just fill in to the gap times.
