God through his word gave promise; God through his word announced that the disobeying Israelites could not enter into His rest. The word of God still applies to us today. That's why verse 12 says, "The word of God is alive and active." Memorize Hebrews 4:12.
Hebrews 4:12: For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
300
Yet the author is convinced that the readers of the letter will not fall away. That is because God will help them. Memorize Hebrews 6:10

The Son is superior to the angels as well. The author quotes a few scriptures to show that. Memorize Hebrews 1:9.

The author continues to show that Jesus has to be made like us in every way, in order to help us. How do we know Jesus can help us when we are tempted? This chapter argues that it is fitting for God to make Jesus completely like us so that Jesus can help us. Just like your parents kneel down to talk to you, Jesus came down to our level and lived among us. This is what we say Jesus being "fully ________ in every way"
Because Jesus himself suffered when he was tempted, so he can help us when we are tempted. / human
