What are supplies/materials?
When explaining games, staff should include these two types of instruction.
What are verbal and visual instructions?
At the playground, staff should always keep these on campers.
What are eyes/watchful supervision?
Staff should use this when giving directions.
What is a camp voice/projected voice?
One staff member should help with this during morning drop-off.
What is check-in?
Opening staff may make one of these so campers can better visualize the craft outcome
What is an example project?
If a child refuses to play, staff should first do this before allowing them to sit out.
What is encourage them to join/play?
Before leaving the playground or pool, staff must do this.
What is a head count?
Before campers arrive, staff should make sure everyone knows this.
What are their assigned roles/jobs?
Staff should face toward campers at all times because this can happen quickly.
What is an accident/injury/problem?
During activities, one staff member leads while another staff member does this.
What is help campers stay on track/help one-on-one?
If a camper doesn’t want to get wet during a water game, staff may create this protected area.
What is a safe zone?
Staff should never do this while supervising at the playground or pool.
What is turn their back on campers/hang out in groups?
If you are unsure of what to do in a difficult situation (ex: child conflict or serious injury) you should communicate with these people.

If an activity is especially messy, staff should start to do this earlier than usual.

During the last A.M. activity and at the end of the day, leftover supplies for the final group should be put away in this location

Staff should model this behavior during games and activities.
What is positive participation/enthusiasm?
Under no circumstances may a camper leave without one of these two people
What is a staff member or authorized pick-up person?
Staff should communicate schedule changes to campers before this happens.
What are creating smooth transitions/activity changes?
If a parent wants to pick up a camper during lunch, they must go to this location first
