sensitive longer appendages coming from the crayfish head, provide strong sense of taste and touch
What are the antennae?
Provides protection and structure but limits the growth of the arthropod
What is an exoskeleton?
Its job is to transport oxygen to the places where it is needed
What is the circulatory system?
A body region composed of the head and thorax fused together
What is the cephalothorax?
Means that the blood of the arthropod flows directly into body cavities
What is an open circulatory system?
Uses gills to extract oxygen from the water surrounding it
What is the respiratory system?
The organ of balance in a crustacean

Body is divided into 3 major parts:head, thorax, and abdomen
