This element refers to the creation of visual perspective; this gives the illusion of depth. It can also mean the way an artist uses the area within the picture plane.

This principle of design refers to the equal distribution of visual weight. There are two types of this principle.
What are asymmetrical and symmetrical balance?

Any part in a lowercase letter that extends above the x-height, found for example in b, d, f, h, k, etc. Some types of ascenders have specific names.

This is a matching system used for specifying and blending match colors. It provides designers with swatches of over 700 colors and gives printers the recipes for making those colors. These are generally used as spot colors, such as logos, to ensure color consistency for corporate identities.

One always has two dimensions, length as well as width. This is represented as an enclosed area that is defined by color, value, space, texture and form. The other always has three dimensions; length, width and height. Examples of such would be cubes, pyramids, spheres or even cylinders. Sculptures and decorative arts serve as good examples for form.
