To complete your QL requirement, you will need to pick a math class from our approved list, typically Math 1050 or STATS 1040. Which math class you chose will depend on what major you decide to declare.

No! Our goal is to kick you out of exploratory into a major that is suited for your interests and values.
Why do you have to take general education courses?
General education classes are designed to become a well-rounded student.
What happens if you haven't taken a college math class in over 2 years?
You will need to take the ALEKS Placement Exam to be able to register for a math course. College math courses expire after 2 years as a prerequisite.

• Hybrid: Classes combine In-person and Virtual/Online class sessions
and activities reducing in-person classroom time.
• Online: Students will access learning materials and activities and
engage regularly with the instructor and other students in Canvas.
• Virtual: Classes are held virtually via Zoom at pre-scheduled

What is a credit hour?
1 credit hour is composed of 15 hours of direct instruction during a semester. 1 credit hour = 1 lecture hour per week
What is an elective?
Elective credits are credits 1000-level and
above that are not required for university
studies or for major or minor requirements.
These credits count toward the 120 credits
needed for graduation. Some majors do not
need elective credits in order to meet the 120
required for graduation, while other majors
leave room for some elective credits.
What is a depth education requirement?
This University Studies requirement allows
your student to take two upper-division
(3000- or 4000-level courses) outside of their
field of study to make them a more well-
rounded learner
What is a recitation?
A recitation is sort of a review or homework
help session where a student that has taken the class before leads a smaller
group through the class content. Recitations are linked to the classes that
require them and you will have to register for both. It depends on the class if
attending the recitation is part of the final grade or not.
