Using two specific examples, explain how land use may change as technology changes
When the car was developed, the shape and size of cities changed quickly as people were able to move farther away from the centre of town. A great deal of land was taken over to accommodate the car.
As technology developments change the nature of factories and manufacturing to lighter cleaner industry, old heavy industrial land use areas are sometimes abandoned. New industrial parks are built in the outskirts of towns and cities.
