Your Girl Scout is doing an MEA (money earning activity) to help fund her project. What are her next steps...
MEA approval is done through Membership--same as if for a troop. Girl Scout still must comply with all the eligibility requirements Approval Steps: 1. If a flier is created to promote the MEA, please attach it to the application for approval. 2. MEAs are approved by the Service Unit Manager, Membership and Marketing Manager, and finallythe Director of Membership Services. Girl Scouts of Connecticut reserves the right to deny a MEA if it is deemed not in compliance with Safety-Wise and Council polices and guidelines. 3. A completed MEA application must reach the Service Unit Manager at least six (6) weeks prior to the activity. 4. An approved MEA application must reach the Director of Membership Services at least four (4) weeks prior to the activity

When first introducing yourself to a girl (through the phone or email) what must you remember to say?
What is Your name, that you are a gold award mentor, you look forward to meeting with her, and briefly explain the next steps and when you are available to meet (and a possible meeting location). AND should she need to connect with you--change of plans, a problem arises, etc...please be sure to give her at least 2 forms of contact information.

A Girl Scout wants to advertise her Gold project and is asking for money donations. Is this allowed?
What is No. G.S. are not allowed directly solicit funds. They may ask for specific donations of items, hold a money earning activity or make a presentation to a local organization known for giving to youth projects to seek support. But the direct ask for donations in not permitted and must be taken off your advertisement/flier.

What is 1. Does she have the basics--time, date, location, etc... 2. There is no home address or personal email listed (have her create a Gold project email). 3. She is using the correct Girl Scout logo in the proper way 4. That she mentions this is for her Gold Award project. 5. That the poster is visually pleasing and eye-grabbing If you are unsure or have questions about it--email it to Ginny

Two months have passed and you have not heard from one of your Gold Award Candidates. What is your next step?
What is try and connect with the Girl Scout. Email and call her. "Hi, ________. I am just checking-in to see how your project is progressing. This is just a friendly reminder that during the lifetime of your project it is your responsibility to check in with me no less than once a month. I am so glad to hear the project is going well and I look forward to hearing from you again soon" After your first attempt--you can always think about copying the Girl Scout's leader on the email.

What is... ...To put it on her resume ...To work with Family, Troop, and possibly SU to have a pinning ceremony ...to put it on her college applications ...GSOFCT Gold Award Reception is first Sunday in June ...That she should keep in touch with GSOFCT. Is her mailing address, email address, or phone number changes---to make the effort to remember to tell gold@gsofct.org so that she can be connected for possible future opportunities.

What is through the USPS. All original and signed reports must be mailed to Council. Girl Scouts can scan and email this paperwork to try to get it reviewed a few days early--but the scan must include all the necessary parts.
