What does low VOC mean? Why is it important?
VOC stands for Volatile Organic Compounds, and they are commonly found in paints, lacquers, stains, glues, sealants, and other construction products. They are not harmful to the environment, humans, or other living organisms.

The clips have slots in them that allow for natural movement and expansion of the wood. They also allow for checking and cracking.

2 - the Patina is mostly sanded off by hand, to add a distressed look and dimension from the Patina remaining in cracks and crevices.
3+4 - two coats of sealer are applied.
5+6 - two coats of lacquer are added that bond with the sealer to make a highly moisture resistant and durable finish.
7 - final polishing and touching up.
