How to Play
Setup:
Display the Game Board: Project or draw the 5x5 grid on a whiteboard/screen. Write the dollar amounts under each category.
Divide into Teams: Split the class into 2-4 teams.
Select a Scorekeeper: Choose one student or be the scorekeeper yourself.
Rules:
Choose a Category & Amount: The first team selects a category and a dollar amount (e.g., "Reported Speech: Statements for $400").
Answer in the Form of a Question: Reveal the clue. The team must respond in the form of a question, just like in real Jeopardy. For this exercise, that means:
For Reported Speech categories: The "clue" is the direct speech. The correct "question" is the reported speech statement.
For Unreal Past categories: The "clue" is the situation. The correct "question" is the completed sentence with I wish, If only, etc.
For French-Derived Words category: The "clue" is the definition. The correct "question" is "What is [the word]?"
Correct Answer: If correct, the team earns the dollar amount. Add it to their score.
Incorrect Answer: If incorrect, another team can "buzz in" (raise their hand) to steal the points.
Daily Double: (Optional) You can pre-select one clue per round as a "Daily Double." When a team picks it, they can wager some or all of their current points.
