Distinguish the difference between sharecroppers and tenant farmers.
Sharecroppers - Instead of working for wages, they
provided the labor and received a share of their employer’s crop. (Employers provided land, seed, tools, a mule, and a cabin). They did not have any monetary income.
/ Tenant farmers - The farmers who rented the land and they farmed from the landowner. They worked independently.
(They grew whatever crops they wanted). They actually
gained a source of income.
