The Israelites brought the Ark to battle hoping that it would give them power, but it didn’t. The Philistines took it back to Ashdod, but God sent a plague against them until they returned the Ark.
Explain the Davidic Covenant and what it foreshadows.
God promised to establish a throne for David and his lineage that would last forever. This foreshadows the Messiah.

God tore the kingdom away from Solomon, giving ten of the tribes to his servant Jeroboam.
Explain what happened at Mount Carmel.
Elijah challenged Ahab and the prophets of Baal. Elijah and the false prophets each made an altar and sacrificed a bull upon it, but neither lit a fire. The false prophets called out to Baal, but there was no answer. Elijah then poured water over his altar three times and, when he prayed, God sent fire to consume the sacrifice, proving that he was the true God.
