If someone gets angry, frustrated, upset with you for saying no, should you change your mind and say yes to make them feel better?
NO! You have the right to say no and they have the right to be upset. They do not have the right to guilt you or force you to do anything you don't want to do.
It's hard to navigate but you ALWAYS have the right to say no.
If a friend makes you hang out with them and doesn't give you a choice, is that a healthy relationship?

Your friend may need to understand that you can be friends and still need space from one another. That is very healthy! (same for partners!)
