How many books can I checkout?
3rd grade: ONE BOOK.
4th and 5th grade: TWO BOOKS.

What should I bring to the library with me?
Nothing. Your books should have been put into the classroom library basket BEFORE library starts.
My book page ripped. Should I tape it?
No, do not tape or try to fix torn pages.
1. Ask your teacher for a sticky note.
2. Write on the sticky note what page was ripped.
3. Put the sticky note on the front cover of your book in the return basket on library day.
How do you use a spotter card or shelf marker?
When you pull a book from the shelves, put the shelf marker in the space the book was in.
If you decide not to check out the book, put the book back in the shelf marker's place.
Return it to the basket when you are done.
How can our class win the overdue book competition?
Bring back all our library books on time every week.
Where do I go and do after I enter the library?
Walk into the well and sit on the stairs.
Where should I put my books when I take them home?
In your backpack. Do NOT carry your books in your hands on the way home.
Put it in the BOOK RETURN slot.
I forgot to bring back my book. What do I do during checkout time?
Read a magazine at level ZERO anywhere in the library.
Return your magazine at the end of library time.
I forgot my book at home/desk/locker. When should I tell Mrs. Taylor?
At the end of your library lesson, Mrs. Taylor will list all overdue books before checkout. You can tell her then where your book is.
*If you do not bring your book back or it gets very damaged, your parents will have to pay for the book.
Why shouldn't I let anyone borrow my library book?
The book is checked out in your name and it is your responsibility.
I checked out a book. However, there is still library time left. What do I do?
1. Find a place to sit, anywhere in the library.
2. Open your book and begin to read.
*Voice level ZERO or you will assigned a new spot to read. No warnings.
I don't want to checkout a book. What can I do instead?

I see computers on a table in the library. Can I use them?
Library computers are reserved for 3rd-5th grade students after they have been taught how to look up books in the library.

Use a yellow RENEW bookmark from your classroom library bin.
