How is the circulatory system in humans and the vascular system in plants different?
The circulatory system uses the heart to pump blood which circulates throughout the body to deliver nutrients and oxygen while also getting rid of carbon dioxide. The circulatory system has three types of veins: arteries, veins, and capillaries. The vascular system of a plant transports nutrients in one direction - from the leaves down to the remaining parts of the plant through tubes called the phloem. The plant vascular system also transports water and minerals in one direction - from the roots up to the rest of the plant through tubes called called xylem. The phloem and xylem form vascular bundles.
