I love to quilt - that's when you make blankets out of different fabrics. I also like to go hiking, go to the zoo, play with my nieces, and I love to read. I also like to play video games, watch murder mysteries from Great Britain, and hang out with my husband and my pets.

I used to teach 2nd grade, and my first year teaching I taught 3rd grade.
What other two states did Mrs. H live in? (She lived in one state for middle school and another state for high school and college.)
I moved to Denver, Colorado, for middle school. Then, I moved to Edgewood, New Mexico, and went to Moriarty High School. I moved to Portales, New Mexico, for college.

Yes, I am. I like to paint pictures - especially animals. I've sold some of my works at craft fairs.

No, I don't have kids of my own. Each year that I teach, my students become like my kids.

False. While we will do worksheets, it's very important to me that we do a lot of projects, readings, and art. I like to make learning fun!

I like murder mysteries. I'm on book 17 of a series called the Sneaky Pie Brown books - which is about a young woman who lives in the country and she solves mysteries with her three pets - her little Corgi dog, Tucker, and her two cats, Mrs. Murphy and Pewter. Can you guess why I like them so much?

My husband's name is Will, and we've been together for 10 years.

I used to a docent (a special volunteer) at the Albuquerque Zoo. I've been fortunate to meet a lot of the animals there.

Who did I live with for most of my childhood?
I lived with my grandparents - my Meme (my grandma) and my Grandpa. My mom and my younger brother lived with us sometimes. I moved back in with my mom when I was 13.
What is Mrs. H most proud of?
I'm proud of being a teacher. I was the first person in my family to go to college and get a degree. It was hard for me, and it took a lot of work - but I did it. I had a rough childhood, and what I want most is to make school a safe, happy place for all of my students.
