document everything we see in the mouth -- oral masses, fractures, bone loss, pocketing, discolored teeth

blood oxygen levels. tell us how well our patient is receiving oxygen. should always be above 95.

legal purposes. needs to have approval for anesthesia, extractions, injections. save the doctor's BUTTS.
what is the difference between a UCF, CCF, AB, AT?
UCF - crown fracture w/o pulp exposure
CCF - crown frature w pulp exposure
AB- wear on tooth from object (ball, toy)
AT - wear on tooth from another tooth

ask to turn down isoflurane, check heart rate, administer drugs (we don't have)
what do we recommend for evening meal instructions?
half normal food and water since pt may be still out of it from anesthesia. they may not even be interested at all. should be back to normal by the morning.
how many teeth does a cat and dog have?
30 and 42
what do you say if an owner admits to NOT wanting any extractions, JUST a cleaning?
if the doctor recommends extractions, they should be open minded to helping their pet and let us use our judgment to prevent infection/pain. if a pet knowingly needs extractions, we will not perform just a cleaning.
how do you change email or phone number?
what if the heart rate starts rapidly dropping?
notify the doctor, turn down isoflurane, check femoral pulse, can administer injections (atropine)
my dog LOVES to chew on bones, it helps with tartar control. what products do you recommend?!?
NO BONES/ANTLERS! Will fracture teeth. Recommend kong toys and other dental chews, such as breakables, whimzees, greenies, oravet chews
what is a class 2 and class 3 malocclusion?
overbite and underbite. always take pictures!
if a client is getting rude/aggressive in an exam room, what do you do?
cry a little...
advise owner that we won't tolerate negative language, let them know that you will be leaving the room and find a doctor
how many surgeries should you schedule for JD and BJS?
4-5 for JD, 5-6 for BJS
