With respect. Tools not toys!

Raise your hand with your fingers crossed without talking
How should you leave class?
Quietly and calmly, with your hands to yourself.
How do you wait to come into the classroom?
Lined up outside the entrance door, voice level 0 with hands to self.
How do we move our bodies in Science class? WHY?
Calmly, with our hands to ourselves. So everyone has a safe place to learn.
Where do you get your materials from?
The materials table by the computer cart.
Sign out (either in a notebook or on the computer).
How do you put your science notebook away?
Stack your notebook at your group's table. One person from your group puts them in the science notebook cabinet.
Where should you sit for whole group lessons? Where should you sit for independent work?
On the carpet for whole group work and at your assigned table spot during independent work.
How are we expected to interact with each other in class? (Four things)
Be kind, help one another, listen to each other, and try their best
How should we return the computers?
In their correct number spot and back on the charger.
The bathrooms by the library. If they are closed for any reason, come back and talk to Mrs. O'Dwyer.
What should you do if your area is clean?
A) Chat with my classmates
B) Walk around the room

Get your science notebook, go to your seat, silently start the Do Now.
When are three times you should not be talking in class?
1. When Mrs. O'Dwyer is giving instructions
2. When another student is sharing out
3. During individual work time
When should a pencil be sharpened?
During work time only!
Should you use the bathroom during a whole group lesson?
No. I may miss instructions!
What should it look and sound like when you're ready to be dismissed? (Three things)
The floor around your table is clean, materials are put away, and students are silently seated waiting to be dismissed.
What should you do if Mrs. O'Dwyer isn't in the room at the start of class?
Wait in line outside the door quietly.
When are three times you should be talking in class?
1. During class discussions, on topic
2. With a partner during think-pair-share
3. If the teacher asks you a question
How should we hold the computers? How should we walk when we are holding a computer?
With two hands and walking carefully (never run).
Can I use the bathroom at the end of the period?
No, noone can use the bathroom during the last five minutes of class.
When do we start cleaning up?
Two minutes before the end of class, unless Mrs. O'Dwyer says otherwise.
