What is the purpose of rounds?
Rounds are an opportunity for staff to take note of any damage and/or issues throughout the property so that they can be resolved. Our goal is to make the property look excellent; in order to do that, we need to avoid tunnel vision and be aware of our surroundings. This also helps us to approach any incidents that may be occurring, whether it be noise or a fire hazard in a building.

What are the steps when you get a smoking or drug call?
-knock on the door to address the smell of marijuana or tobacco
-if you cannot pin point where it is coming from, knock on all doors
-point out to the resident the concern of the smell
-when doors open, see if you can sense a stronger smell
-notice preponderance of evidence (covered smoke detectors, ash trays, blood shot eyes, towel under the door, air freshener being sprayed, windows open or fans on during the winter months, etc)
-report your findings

-if it is obvious where the smell is coming from and the resident doesn't answer, contact the manager on Duty
