What is the name of sugar in DNA?
Deoxyribose
Translate the DNA Codon to mRNA and tRNA. AGC is,

Adenine and Thymine, Cytosine and Guanine.
Thymine is substituted with what nitrogen base in RNA?
Uracil.
Where does translation take place?
Ribosomes
What makes up the backbone of DNA?

What is a codon?
Three nitrogen bases in a row.
What is an Anti-Codon?
What is the name of sugar in RNA?
Ribose
Where does Transcription take place?
Nucleus
How does a ribosome know when to start and when to stop?
Start and Stop Codons.
What enzyme creates mRNA?
RNA polymerase
What is the 2 main parts of protein synthesis?
Translation and Transcription.
What does transcribe mean in terms of Protein Synthesis?
It makes a copy of the DNA.
What mRNA is created from the DNA codon ATG?
UAC
What does Translation mean in terms of protein synthesis?
To go from mRNA to protein.
Explain the steps of protein synthesis from start to finish.
The DNA gets unzipped by a RNA polymerase. Then you make a copy with nucleotides to the unzipped DNA. Then with the mRNA strand you add the other half of the strand back with tRNA. Then when you get to the end codon you long strand of protein left.
