Offer a sincere apology. "I didn't mean to laugh. I'm sorry you had a tough time with that assignment. It was hard! Can I help with anything?" Remember: friends remember how you treat them. It may take time for them to completely forgive you.

A polite and respectful response is needed. Something like "I know it is time for Speech, but I would rather stay and work on Math." Understand-sometimes your SLP may be able to offer you a different appointment, but sometimes you may have to keep your scheduled time.

You join a conversation and interrupt someone by talking about something completely different than what the group was talking about. How do you fix this?
Admit you made a mistake and offer an apology. "Hey, I'm sorry. I was way off topic. I'll talk to you guys later about it." Remember: interrupting is rude and can make people feel like you don't care about what they have to say.

Withdrawal. Not only will this make the other student think that you are being rude, it will make the guide feel like you are not using good manners. Being demanding is a big "withdrawal" from the bank.

Be friendly, and offer to join: "Hey guys. I played that all summer. It's my favorite game." Remember-they may or may not want you to join. Just focus on what you can control - your actions. :)

Sounds like you missed a joke. You could ask "Hey. Sounds like I missed a good joke. Will you tell me again?" It's not a big problem if you missed a joke, so remember to be "ok" if the other student doesn't want to repeat it.
