DO make connections in your department. Why is this important?

How should you respond if you do not know the answer to a visitor's question?

State that you are a volunteer and you are happy to connect them with a team member who can assist.

Your department supervisor, listed on your service description. (You can notify Jenny as a backup, but the department will be the priority)

What should you do if a patient asks for help that is outside your volunteer role?

Thank them for asking, let them know that you are a volunteer and you are happy to get a team member who can assist them. Then you would find a nurse or employee and share the scenario so they can help.

What are two ways volunteers can provide excellent customer service?

-Make eye contact and smile

-Ask if there is anything you can help them with

-Have an empathetic mindset always since we don't know what challenges someone is facing
