Scratch paper can be used to help you work out problems in math - writing down the problems, drawing a picture, writing multiplication tables, etc. It can also be used to help you make notes about what you have read in a passage - justification for ORQ - and to complete your Do What CV chart.

Describe the steps you should take if you encounter a difficult problem that you are not sure of the answer to.
First, reread the question and see if there is information that you missed. Next, go back to the reading passage and try to find the answer or use your scratch paper and try every math strategy to work out the problem. Then, read all of the answer choices and try to eliminate answers you know can't be right. If you are still unsure, make the best guess that you can. When you have answered all of the questions on the test, go back to the questions you had difficulty with.

Don't look around the room and worry or think about what anyone else is doing. This test is about you! You should stay focused on your test and prove to your teachers and your school that you've got what it takes to be successful!

Don't rush through the test. Do your best on every single question. If you find yourself taking too long on one question, make an educated guess and move on. Be sure to go back over your work when you have finished.
