  • Listen without judging — Give them space to talk and take their feelings seriously rather than immediately trying to fix the problem.
  • Stay connected and supportive — Check in, spend time with them, and invite them to activities without pressuring them.
  • Encourage them to get help — Support them in talking with a trusted adult, therapist, counselor, doctor, or other mental health professional. If they talk about suicide or harming themselves, involve a trusted adult or professional immediately.
