A-Alliances- this is when countries have mutually beneficial relationships between one another.

I-Imperialism- this is when you take another country’s land with force or diplomatically.

N-Nationalism- this is having extreme pride in one’s country.

What is the Wilson's 14 points

These were President Woodrow Wilson’s 14 ideas on how to peacefully establish boundaries so that another world war would never happen again.

They included how to divide land, freedom of the seas, but did not mention blaming anyone or paying for reparations.

A time that made the USA fun and everyone can do whatever they want.

Why did the USA joined the war?

Sinking of the Lusitania- this was when Germany used unrestricted submarine warfare and sunk a British passenger ship that also had Americans on board. There were many casualties. And

Zimmerman Telegram- this was when Germany sent Mexico a coded message. The message asked Mexico to attack the US and in response they would get land back. This message was intercepted by the British and the US was notified.

  • This was the plan that was actually put into place after the “Big Four” met to negotiate terms after WWI.

  • They did not listen to Wilson’s 14 points and put blame and reparations on Germany.

What is Trench Warfare 

Trenches—long, deep ditches dug as protective defenses—are most often associated with World War I. 

Both sides of the war dug trenches to protect themselves on the battlefield. 

The Germans and central powers’ trenches were constructed better than the British and the Allied powers’ trenches.

Soldiers were stuck in trenches for months at a time.

The area between two trenches was known as “No Man’s Land”
