This service is known to provide a free service for students with children who want to pursue their academic journey, and typically are between the ages of 18-24, meet the federal poverty line and attend classes at GCC.
What is CalWorks?
This social program is free of charge and is full of communities where students can join to obtain a sense of belonging, community, and to learn more about their culture. But unfortunately international students are unable to participate.
What is Student Equity and Learning Communities?
Technology support, finals week support, free testing materials (ex:bluebooks), $100 book store voucher, food voucher for the cafeteria, and (sometimes) gas cards, fall under what category.

Student Equity offers field trips to these specific places in order to ensure that students who are a part of their communities can see what academic options are available for them as they continue on the path to reach their academic goals.
