How do we determine a Delayed Request for Weekly Compensation
A delayed request for weekly compensation (DRWC) is:
DOFI = A request for weekly compensation received 28 days + ECO max (days) or more, after the date of the accident
DOSI = A request for weekly compensation received 28 days, or more, after the end date of the last period of incapacity (unless the below exceptions apply)
The DRWC process for DOSI weekly compensation requests does not apply in the following situations, and weekly compensation can be set-up normally:
- If the DOSI date is still within 28 days + ECO max (days) after the date of the accident
- If the DOSI request for weekly compensation relates to ACC funded surgery (and there is no delay between surgery date and when the medical incapacity is issued).
