Stop the driver and have them safely park the lift, dismount, ask them why they're not wearing their seatbelt and collect statement. Submit a near miss.

Supervisor needs to look at drivers forklift history. If there are no incidents in the past two years, they need a post-incident review.

You see garbage on the operations floor.

Pick it up and throw away.

You witness an employee who's behavior is erratic and you suspect they may be under the influence.

Yourself and another leader need to fill out an Observed Behavior form found on The Vine. You will come to a conclusion together for next steps, based on the results of the form.

You've come across an employee laying on the production ground, seemingly unconscious.

Assess the scene. Attempt to establish communication with the employee. If not breathing, follow first aid training. Call 911 if needed.

If you are not first aid trained, call out for help and do the best you can.

An employee has a black water bottle on the production floor.

This is a GMP violation. The bottle needs to be removed from the floor and employee needs reminded that only clear bottles are permitted.

Politely remind them to put their PPE on.

Stop the driver, have them safely park the lift, dismount, and ask them why they're not wearing their fall protection. Ask who their foreman is and have them come over to discuss. Collect statement.

Someone is consistently showing up to work disheveled and seemingly unclean?

A discussion is needed with the employee in regards to personal hygiene and the importance of cleanliness in a manufacturing setting.

Can an employee take an unpaid day if they have vacation in their bank?

No - per current policy.

A severe weather alert was been sent out by the National Weather Service and you have multiple employees calling stating they are uncomfortable making the drive.

Remind them they can use sick leave or vacation.

A notice will go out if there is a site shut down. Main constituent is if the roads to the facility are open or closed.

An employee reports to you that they saw another employee take an item from the Avanti market without paying.

Get a written statement. Call Avanti and have them check the camera.

Stop the situation. Have them fill out a statement. Send them home pending an investigation. Submit a near miss.

Remind the employee that most jewelry is not permitted on the operational floor. Rings without stones are permitted.

You are walking through production floor when you see two employees having a heated argument that is quickly escalating. 

Break it up immediately. Pull them aside and start collecting statements wrtiten. Contact HR.

Get out of the building as quickly and safely as possibly, sweeping the building as you go. Meet at your assembly point.

Sit down with employee and capture their statement.

Report it to HR.

Ethics hotline is also available if the employee would like to be anonymous.

A small fire has broken out in the warehouse. There is a fire extinguisher within reach that you feel could easily diminish the flames.  

1. You can leave the area, pull fire alarm, call 911/help.

2. After calling 911 and pulling the fire alarm, you can utilize the fire extinguisher if you know how, and if you have an exit point.
