1163-Exempt Providers are exempt from Orientation & Safety, Basic Training, and HCA certification requirements due to their 'grandfathered' status.
1163 providers must have worked in long-term care settings between 01/01/2011 - 01/06/2012 and have completed all the required training at the time.

Providers who hold an active RN (Registered Nurse), ARNP (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner), or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) credential are exempt from all HCA training requirements as long as their DOH credential is in good standing.

We would redirect them to their employer because Nurse Delegation is based on client needs.

A provider calls the MRC because they hold an active Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR) license with the state and wants to know if they must still complete the certification process.
Yes.
A NAR license is not greater or equivalent to the HCA license per the state of WA.
